From the lakefront ....

    Giant Salvinia Alert

Although we have had a break from the Salvinia invasion it is coming back. Small juvenal plants are growing along the banks in several locations including Jeemes Bayou and the main lake both North and South shores. If you see any please remove it as soon as possible. If you are not able to remove it please report the location to Dan Fulghum at ferrylakecamp@aol.com. The Wild Life and Fisheries are currently spraying all effected areas of the lake. We are at the stages we were at shortly after it was first introduced to the lake. Please help La.GCLA to keep this plant from getting back to the condition we were in before the floods and freeze of 2009.
